The data related to food and recipes on our servers are not included in the App. This allows for new and continuous updates. At the same time, the app requires internet connection to be able to take full advantage of its services. Moreover, given the nature and the amount of data transmitted it is important to have a fast connection (3G, WiFi, 4g).
Mdiet is a simple and revolutionary App, bringing the studies of leading experts to the palm of your hand, this vision of the United Nations who look to healthy eating as a form of greater protection of health and recognizes the Mediterranean Diet as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity (UNESCO 2010). For the realization of Mdiet App, in fact, the principles of "Governance Sustainable Food" and "fight against non-communicable diseases" were observed. Mdiet App also encourages Sustainable Agriculture, consumption of Healthy Food and Food Safety, in the direction of the prospects of the FAO. Mdiet App is inspired by the research of Ancel Keys, acknowledged "Father" of the Mediterranean Diet, that the word "diet" is not identified as a crash diet, erroneously imagined, but a healthy "lifestyle”.

Mdiet App is intuitive and easy to browse, with over 400 original images that guide you to recognize more than 300 foods of the Mediterranean Diet. For each food, Mdiet App indicates nutritional values and health properties. It also provides the location of the food in both the "Food Pyramid" and in the "Healthy Plate". The outline of the Pyramid suggests visually foods to consume daily, weekly or monthly. At the same time you will see in what area of the “Healthy Plate” each food selected is placed (eg.: Vegetables, Fruits, Cereals, Protein). Among the symbols, you will find the "Smile", which indicates with the GREEN colour the foods that can be consumed daily in the Mediterranean Diet; with Yellow, the foods of the Mediterranean Diet of which suggests moderate consumption; with RED, foods that are part of the food pyramid of the Mediterranean Diet which are recommended to be eaten monthly or occasional consumption. Among the new suggestions for gluten intolerance disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, obesity, irritable bowel, cholesterol, cardiovascular diseases and prevention of tumours.

Exclusively, Mdiet App indicates the pH of food thanks to you can identify the effect of acidifying and alkalizing foods. Among the features is "My Diary" that allows you to write down the food path daily, weekly and monthly, and send it, with a simple click, via e-mail, directly from your smartphone to a specialist for advice. Mdiet App also has many suggestions from Nutritional Biologist and millenary tradition of Mediterranean cuisine with its "Recipes", as result of careful and scrupulous research rooted in the history of Mediterranean conviviality.
